Berlusconi ready for coalition with leftists

Former Italy’s Prime Minister said he is ready to support a coalition government with center-left leader Pier Luigi Bersani and backs his candidature as Italy’s new prime minister, Interfax reported.

Berlusconi announced this after meeting with the country’s President Giorgio Napolitano who is later to meet with political leaders in a bid to form a coalition government.

Earlier, Bersani rejected a coalition saying he, so far, sees no stable parliamentary majority.
