Leo Messi's last hurdle
Sport
Leo Messi has one last hurdle to straddle in Vigo and he's not one to shy away from a challenge. Celta is the only league team the Argentine has yet to score against this season. The last time he failed to score in the league was against this Galician team. So, if he manages it this Saturday he'll have scored against all the clubs in one straight run. Incredible but true.
Messi has scored at least once in the last 18 league matches. His son Thiago had just been born and Leo had a dummy hidden in his sock two days later, on the 3rd November to be precise, when Celta visited Camp Nou. The dummy stayed put as Messi didn't score. From that moment onwards, however, he's been unstoppable.
The Argentine has managed no less than 28 goals in those 18 matches. His tally in la Liga stands at 41 with 10 games remaining till the end of the season. In other words, he's only nine goals shy of his own personal best of 50, a feat he achieved last season. Back then it seemed like an impossible figure.
