Taron Margaryan took part in opening of the overhauled building of Passport Service in Avan district of Yerevan.

On Dec. 21, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan participated in the opening of the overhauled building of Avan Passport Service of the Passport and Visa Department of the RA Police.
Getting acquainted to technical and working conditions Mayor Taron Margaryan thanked the Police for the work done and stressed that one of the problems concerning the residents most of all finds its solution this way.
“Being a resident of Avan and having an opportunity to compare the previous conditions of the building and the service I can confidently say that now the conditions are excellent. We must do our best in all links to provide convenient conditions for the population”, said Taron Margaryan.
Taking into account the legislative requirement to introduce biometric passports in Armenia, special equipment for photographing, e-signature and dactylogram was installed by the pilot program in the new building to provide the processing of identification cards and passports. It must be noted that due to this equipment servicing the population will be more effective, transparent and faster and the first visitors of the division became witnesses of this.
The Deputy head of the RA Police Major General Arthur Osikyan in his turn assured that next year the passport service buildings in all the administrative districts of the capital will be overhauled and in the result of innovations it will become possible to avoid queues.
