Serena Williams of the United States won a WTA tournament in Miami on Saturday with a three-set final victory over Russia’s Maria Sharapova.

Sharapova thus failed to win two WTA tourneys held this month.

On March 17 she prevailed at a similar competition in Indian Wells, California.
