Kuwaiti court sentences citizen for critical Twitter message

A Kuwaiti court has sentenced a citizen of the country Hamad al-Hamidi to two years in prison for a Twitter microblog entry containing criticism of the head of state, RBC reports.
After the popular unrest of 2011, countries of the Persian Gulf have increased pressure on social networks.
According to human rights activists, several dozen people have been imprisoned in Kuwait for posting messages offensive to Islam and the country's leaders.
