RA minister of agriculture Sergo Karapetyan described the passing year as the year of stabilization and the coming ones as years of development.

The best results in the sphere of agriculture in the passing year were registered in the fish-breeding field, Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan told a news conference today, noting that for the first time the fish GDP exceeded the 6.0 tons limit and made more than 6.4 thousand of tons which exceeds the 2010 index of the same span.

The minister said this year noticeable positive changes have been registered in the sphere of agriculture, the GDP of the branch in January-November, according to the National Statistical Service, made 772.9 billion AMD which is 14.0% more as compared with the same span of the past year.

The minister stressed that the agriculture is one of the core spheres of our country and ensures the employment of 45% of the country's population. Sergo Karapetyan said there was lack of trust of people toward this sphere which was neutralized with the implementation of a number of programs.
