British protest new nuclear weapons

Thousands of Britons have arrived in the town of Aldermaston in southern England to take part in a protest against nuclear weapons.

The city is the home of one of the largest research centers for the development of atomic weapons in the European Union.
Activists gathered around the complex for several hours chanting anti-war slogans.

Many of the British public have expressed their attitude to the government's plans to replace Trident ballistic missiles with new nuclear weapons which will cost the country tens of billions of dollars.
