Eurozone unemployment rate hits 12%

The rate of unemployment in 17 eurozone countries hit a record 12% in February, the European Statistical Agency reports.
The lowest unemployment rate was reported in Austria (4.8%) and Germany (5.4%), while the highest level was demonstrated by Greece – 26.4%, followed by Spain – 26.3%, BBC reports.
At least 19.07 million Europeans were out of jobs in February, showing a distinct hike of 33,000, official figures have shown.
Eurostat also confirmed a deterioration in Eurozone’s manufacturing over March, with production figures dropping to a three-month low.
Unemployment rates across 27 EU member states edged to 10.9%, up from 10.8% in December.
