Armenia’s PM Tigran Sargsyan met Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who is in Armenia on an official visit. Joint projects which are on the agenda of the economic cooperation program of the two countries have been discussed.

“I welcome you to the Republic of Armenia. We were expecting your visit and it will give new velocity to our relations,” PM Tigran Sargsyan said.

Iran’s President thanked for the warm words and mentioned that he is happy to visit Armenia.

In particular, questions concerning the construction of joint HPPs on Araks river, the 3rd line of electricity exchange between Armenia and Iran and also the construction of Armenia-Iran railway were discussed.
