Experts urge Russia, NATO to bury "Cold War" past
Russia
Russia and NATO should bury the “Cold war”-era military and political doctrines and start building genuine strategic partnership and cooperation in missile defense, TASS reported.
The call came in a report released in Washington by a group of prominent U.S., European and Russian experts led by former U.S. Democrat senator Sam Nunn, former British Defense Secretary Desmond Browne, former Russian foreign policy chief Igor Ivanov and former German deputy foreign minister Wolfgang Ischinger.
The “Cold War” heritage fuels distrust and jeopardizes security in the Euro-Atlantic region, the report says.
