UK freezes defense spending

Due to the difficult economic conditions in the country the government of the United Kingdom has decided to freeze defense spending.

Up until 2015, defense spending will not exceed 33 billion pounds a year. This was announced by Prime Minister David Cameron.

"If we are carrying out an extensive program to reduce costs, we simply can not avoid the military." he stated.

There are related plans to reduce the number of Army, Navy and Air Force personnel as well." he said.
