Student strike in Armenia

The members of the All-Armenian Youth Movement are going to announce the 9th student strike on April 9 with the following demand: "the candidate "won" as a result of falsified elections, shall not be declared the president,"

On April 9 at 09:00, students will gather in front of the main building of Yerevan State University, from there they are going to march to other universities, and complete the procession on Freedom Square.

"Remember, a student strike is a right not limited by law for any student. If students face pressure, warnings or threats, please contact us. Our lawyers will protect your rights," the statement says.

The presidential elections were held in Armenia on February 18. According to the official results, the incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan won the presidential elections with 58.64 percent of the votes. The leader of "Heritage" party Raffi Hovannisian who ranked second with 36.74 percent didn't recognize the results and declared "the Revolution of Smiles and Greetings".
