Depardieu faces drunk driving charges again

French actor Gerard Depardieu is facing new charges in connection with drunk driving.

A court hearing on his case is due to take place in Paris on Friday but the actor will be absent as he is taking part in a film-making process on the territory of the US, Vesti reports.

Depardieu has been charged with drunk driving before. In November, he was detained for driving his motor scooter in a drunken state.

The French actor is facing a €4,500 fine, confiscation of his driving license, or two years in prison. Depardieu has dual Russian-French citizenship.
