Casillas back, and many rested for Istanbul trip
Sport
The return of Casillas and the absences of Varane and Adán are the main novelties in the Real Madrid squad for Saturday's game against Levante. The keeper returns after over two months out injured, whilst the centre back is rested after putting in a great performance against Galatasaray, along with Coentrao and Khedira.
Antonio Adán misses out and Casillas is back in the fray, although in the press conference prior to the match against Levante (Saturday, 6:00 pm, Golt and C+L), Aitor Karanka assured that the captain will not start against 'Los Granotas'.
José Mourinho has announced a group of 19 players for the match, which does not feature Raphaël Varane, Fabio Coentrao, Sami Khedira, Antonio Adán or Ricardo Carvalho. The first three played key roles in Wednesday's win over Galatasaray. Álvaro Morata also misses out.
The squad consists of the following players:
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Diego López and Jesús.
Defenders: Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Arbeloa, Albiol and Nacho.
Midfielders: Kaká, Özil, Xabi Alonso, Essien, Modric, Callejón and Di María.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Higuaín.
