Armenian butcheries sell horse and dead cattle meat - Babken Pipoyan.

Horse and dead cattle meat was sold to people at one of the butcheries near the Gum market on Movses Khorenatsi Street in Yerevan, spokesperson of the Food Safety Inspection at the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture Babken Pipoyan said at a press conference on Monday.
According to him, horse meat was also revealed in Komitas Street butcheries.
The Gum market fines made over AMD 2,400,000 ($6,316) million, out of which AMD 400,000 ($1,053) only for the butchery where the horse and dead cattle meat was revealed. Horse meat is not dangerous for health and differs from the normal meat slightly. To check freshness of meat it is better to push it with finger, if it regains redness quickly, then the meat is fresh, Pipoyan concluded.
