Terrorist act in Afghanistan, 2 people died

Two people died during an explosion in the city of Qalat in southern Afghanistan.

According to the local authorities, the terrorists’ aim was the governor of the Zabul Province. The governor was not affected by the explosion but his three security guards were injured. The explosion occurred when the governor visited one of the city hospitals. The explosion killed a doctor and the terrorist himself.

In spite of many years of international forces’ efforts, tension remains high in Afghanistan. Militants from the Taliban and other extremist Muslim groups commit cruel terrorist acts almost every day.
