Italian government to honour domestic debts

According to Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti, this year should see the payment of at least 40bln of the over 90bln euros worth of debts owed by the Italian government to Italian private companies, Interfax reported.
Mr Monti says he believes the payment will act as a powerful stimulus to the Italian economy.
