Moldova rapped for its language policy

Russia has severely criticized a Moldovan bill to deny an official status to the Russian language and declare the Moldovan language identical to Romanian.

In a statement issued by the Russia Foreign Ministry Saturday, Moscow said the proposed law would run counter to Moldova’s Constitution and destroy the country’s ethnic harmony.

The bill was tabled by Moldova’s Liberal Party.
