"The Armenian Government’s cooking oil, which is intended for needy families, has begun to be distributed in Gyumri city, and this distribution has turned into a hotbed for fighting and killing," "Aravot" daily writes.
“There was a line-up which you could not have seen even during the cold and gloomy years. There were even elderly with canes in the queue. Those in the line-up claimed that ambulances are on duty since early morning, the elderly are becoming ill, one after the other, and doctors are being called. We asked Eduard Baghramyan, the head of Gyumri 2 social service, whether the distribution method could be changed. And as per the official, they cannot increase the number of social welfare employees in order to distribute the oil. According to Eduard Baghramyan, the oil is intended for close to ten-thousand families. The official stated they [oil] are being distributed without a term limit, [and] therefore those who do not have a priority need should give their queue to the impoverished.”
