In the 2nd block of Davtashen district Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan took part in the opening of a mini-football playground.
The Mayor also handed medals to the football players of yard team “Bardiner” who last year became champions of yard football, and in 2011 occupied the 2nd place in pan-Armenian football tournament dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the RA Independence.
This team is the only yard team who applied for the participation in the tournament and its young footballers will have an opportunity to train in the newly opened mini-football field satisfied to international standards. The field is covered with artificial grass, which is convenient for all the children of the neighbourhood to play in any weather. Within the framework of construction and improvement program of the City Hall for 2011 10 similar playgrounds have already been constructed in the capital.
Congratulating the footballers and the residents of the yard, Taron Margaryan stressed that the yard improvement program will be continuous, and sports-grounds will be formed wherever possible. “I am confident that this our approach will stimulate both healthy life style propaganda and the development of Armenian sport, particularly, football. Just take care of all this and train as much as possible. I wish you new achievements”, said Taron Margaryan.
Expressing their gratitude the young sportsmen and the residents assured the Mayor that they will keep the cleanness and the well-arrangement of the area. And the footballers awarded by the Mayor promised to reach more success next year.
