Serzh Sargsyan meets senior NATO official

Serzh Sargsyan received on Monday Ambassador Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, the Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy at NATO, who has arrived in Armenia to attend the president’s inaugural event.
According to a press release by the Armenian leader’s press office, Sargsyan briefed the guest on the projects implemented in the Armenia-NATO cooperation frameworks.
The president highly praised the high-level multisectoral cooperation with the alliance, highlighting particularly the role of public diplomacy that helps periodically keep the society up to date of the Armenia-NATO cooperation.
The president stressed the importance of high-level communication and the political dialogue with both the alliance and its members states.
The ambassador conveyed to the president NATO Secretary General Anders Fog Rasmussen’s warm greetings and best wishes in the second term.
She thanked Sargsyan for ensuring Armenia’s participation in the peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo, emphasizing in the meantime the alliance’s successfully developing cooperation with Armenia in the frameworks of the Individual Partnership Action Plan.
The sides also addressed regional issues at the meeting.
