Venezuela’s Acting President Nicolas Maduro, who is running for the country’s presidency, urges the other candidates to accept the results of the April 14 vote, no matter who wins.
“I promise to recognize the final outcome because I want peace for my country,” said Maduro, who is running on the ticket of the country’s ruling United Socialist party.
All recent opinion polls show Maduro as a clear favorite over the opposition hopeful Henrique Capriles.
