"Haykakan Zhamanak": Abovyan will have a new mayor?

The newspaper writes, “Yesterday we were informed that RA President Serzh Sargsyan called Abovyan city`s ex-mayor Karapet Israyelyan and tried to persuade him to run his candidacy in the upcoming elections of Abovyan city Mayor.

According to our governmental sources, Sargsyan told Israyelyan that the incumbent Mayor of Abovyan, Karen Guloyan - the son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan - would soon be dismissed. The same sources inform, that they have even advised Karapet Israyelyan not to enter in this game as Serzh Sargsyan wants to use the latter against Tsarukyan, with whom Israyelyan has bad relations.”
