Headquarters of Raffi Hovannisian. Police acted toughly against Armen Martirosyan's mother and child

Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian’s campaign headquarters issued a statement on illegal police actions on Tuesday.

At about 10:30am, police resorted to illegal actions against a group of people that arrived in Yerevan from Armenia’s regions to attend New Armenia’s inauguration in Freedom Square, the statement reads.

Specifically, at the Baghramyan-Demirchyan crossroads, policemen acted toughly against some of the people, including Heritage party Vice-Chairman Armen Martirosyan, his mother and child.

The police blocked the way for the people led by Raffi Hovannisian, who were marching to Baghramyan Avenue. Troops of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense are in Baghramyan Avenue.

Raffi Hovannisian’s campaign headquarters is harshly critical of the police actions and demands an end to artificial tension round New Armenia’s inauguration. Armenia’s police and Armenia’s incumbent president will bear full responsibility for all the consequences.
