"In 2011 the RA Armed Forces kept the successes and reduced the shortcomings.” Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan

Military Prosecutor of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan said that the number of deaths and murders in Armenian Armed Forces in 2011 have sharply decreased as compared to last year.

Gevorg Kostanyan said this during the session of the Board of Armenian Defense Ministry, held on December 27.

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan noted that “in 2011 the Armed Forces kept the successes and reduced the shortcomings.”

Speaking about the situation on the contact line, the Defense Minister said:

“Azerbaijan keeps making belligerent statements accompanying them with the politics of militarization. To give an adequate response to enemy’s probable provocations we have to be vigilant, support the fighting efficiency of the army, and the everyday hard work, the effective use of resources and the strengthening of discipline, are the most important factors to that end.”

The head of Chief Headquarters of Armenian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov said that the number of enemy’s ceasefire violations has sharply grown in 2011 as compared to last year, and the Armenian Army has given an adequate response to them.
