Real Madrid sealed their place in the Champions League semi-finals away against Galatasaray with a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo. The Real Madrid forward was key in winning the tie and scored three of his team's five goals, and the two that he scored in Istanbul took him to 50 in the European Cup and ahead of the 49 that Alfredo Di Stefano, the club’s Honorary President, scored. Ronaldo has 34 goals with Real Madrid and 16 with Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the current top scorer in Europe's top competition and has reached 50 goals in the European Cup after the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Galatasaray. In his six seasons at Manchester United he scored 16 goals, but since joining Real Madrid his stats have improved dramatically.
In his first season with the Whites (2009/2010) he scored seven goals in Europe. In his second (2010/2011), six. Last season (2011/2012) he scored 10 and this year he has surpassed that already and has 11 goals. In total, with Real Madrid he has scored 34 goals in 38 Champions League matches.
