Iniesta: "Barça does depend on Messi"

Andres Iniesta came to the press room to discuss Wednesday's match against Paris Saint-Germain in the return leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. The midfielder said that "there are good vibes because we're facing a very strong team. There's a lot at stake, we're playing for a spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The result from the away leg was good. Unfortunately we're missing some players and we're not happy about that. But things are as they are and the team will play against PSG as though it were a final."
"The Milan game was make-or-break for us because we were coming off the back of a very bad result. That match should serve as an example for us as to how to approach this one. We will take the clash against PSG very seriously and it’s important to know how to manage the tempo and the scoreline. We need to go out there with the same intensity and ambition that we had against Milan because that makes life very difficult for the opposition. But the circumstances are different," Iniesta told the press conference.
When asked about Eric Abidal’s return to the pitch, the Spanish international called it "incredible to see Éric Abidal back on the pitch. It made our hair stand on end. It was a unique moment."
"Do you depend on Messi?", a reporter asked Iniesta. His answer was clear: "We will see today and tomorrow. It all depends on how Leo feels, and how well he’s recovering from his injury. They will decide whether he can play or not. But there is no doubt the team does depend on Messi because he is a fundamental player for us."
