The US is funding the opposition candidate at presidential elections in Venezuela, set for April 14. This was stated by acting head of state Nicolas Maduro, who is also running for president from the ruling party.
"Can anyone doubt that a bourgeois candidate is the one the American Empire stakes on?" - the rhetorical question was asked by Maduro at a meeting with his supporters in the state of Trujillo.
He expressed confidence in his election victory, urging voters to show high turnout.
