A day to remember concentration camps victims

Today marks the International Day of Nazi concentration camp inmates'liberation, RIA reports.
The date was established on April 11, 1945, to commemorate the uprising at the Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany.
Founded in July of 1937, the Buchenwald was one of the country’s biggest concentration camps.
240,000 people were kept there in 1937-1945, 56,000 of whom died.
In all, 18 million people became concentration camp inmates in Germany, 11 million of them died.
