Economic growth registered in Armenia`s Vayots Dzor province.

Governor of the Armenian province of Vayots Dzor Sergey Bagratyan told reporters on Dec. 29 that 15% GDP growth has been registered in the Armenian province of Vayots Dzor as compared with the previous year.
He said noticeable works have been implemented by the International Fund for Agricultural Development. According to its program, in eight villages of the province as a result of five years investments the sphere will develop and the products of the province will be more competitive in the markets of European countries. He said cooperation will be established with the Iranian province Khoy on organization of sale of meat and wool in Iran. The Iranian side will provide livestock to the province for reproducing it here.
One of the important cooperation programs with Iran is the conduction of studies for re-operation of Yeghegnadzor canned food factory. The program will be brought to life with co-financing: 250 thousand USD will be provided by the Iranian side and 400 thousand USD by the Armenian government.
As to the construction of small hydro power plant in Vayots Dzor, the governor of the province said permission was given for 40 small plants: 14 of them have already been built, the construction of the rest is underway.
