Storms wreak havok on southern USA

One person died and several were injured by a spate of tornados and storms that are pummeling the southern US states. In Camper, Mississippi a twister destroyed many houses and a storm in a neighboring county upturned cars and trucks.

In the Midwestern states storms have blacked out thousands of households and a state of emergency has been called in Missouri where gale-force winds felled trees and downed power lines.

Meanwhile, there is a heavy snowstorm raging in Minnesota and Dakota as the cyclone moves on across the southern United States.
