Russia urging North Korea to resume talks
Russia
Russia is urging North Korea to abstain from actions that can lead to the escalation of the conflict on the Korean Peninsula and to resume the 6-party talks on its nuclear problem.
This appeal was heard during talks between Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov and the North Korean ambassador to Russia Kim Young-je.
An urgent appeal was made to the North Korean side to ensure the unconditional observance of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council, and to return to the format of the political and diplomatic settlement of the nuclear and other problems of the Korean Peninsula.
The growth of tension on the Korean Peninsula was caused by the military exercises of the USA and South Korea to which North Korea reacted strongly.
It said that it is ready to deliver a missile strike on the military targets in South Korea and on the U.S. Naval Base Guam and also unveiled its plans to test a new ballistic missile.
