Rummenigge: "I don't need to ask Guardiola anything"

Whilst talking to the press about the upcoming Bayern vs Barça semi-final clash, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insisted that "Barcelona is the benchmark for football in Europe. They have won the Champions League more than any other team in recent years. They are the best team in Europe at the moment, fantastic going forward. Playing the first match at home gives us the edge".
He also said "Guardiola has not made contact with us after the draw. He starts work on 1st July. I don't need to ask Guardiola anything. No German knows Spanish football better than Heynckes".
Bayern's CEO recalled the tie back in 2009: "I remember that game well and I don't really like to think about it – it was painful viewing. Messi alone ran circles around us. We need to try to break down the Messi-Xavi-Iniesta set-up. Now is the chance to show that Bayern has improved since 2009 and that we are level with the best team".
"I know what to expect, it will be more difficult than in the quarter-final against Juventus but it is an exciting challenge to play against the best team in Europe", he added.
