News of the Barcelona draw was received with a mixture of respect and enthusiasm by the Bayern Munich players. The reactions of many of the team's star players were on display on the club's official website.
Spain international Javi Martínez, who will go head-to-head with many of his teammates from 'La Roja', said: "Barcelona will be a tricky opponent, but you don't get easy teams in the Champions League semi-finals. They have been the best side in Europe over the last few years and it will be very difficult for us. But if we want to reach the final we have to beat Barça, too".
Thomas Müller, another key player for the German side, said: "I still haven't faced Barcelona, so I'm delighted with the draw. With just four teams left in the competition it will be tough, but we have to be confident".
Munich captain, Philipp Lahm, gave his view: "A nice draw, the Spanish league champions of 2013 against the German league champions of 2013, a great tie in store. This will be our third Champions League semi-final in the last four years and we can match Barça. Either team could make it to London. It will be a great tie between two great teams".
