Boat with Afghan refugees sinks off Indonesia
World
Indonesian fishermen have rescued 14 Afghan refugees after their boat sank near Sunda Strait. Dozens, however, are feared missing.
One of those rescued said there had been 72 people on board. They were heading for Australia’s Christmas Isle.
Indonesia, with more than 18,000 islands, has become a key transit point for refugees hoping to reach Australia.
