Mourinho's Real Madrid side surpassed a club milestone in the league. Under the Portuguese, the team has now notched up a total of 303 league goals in two seasons and seven months.

The 'Blancos' side has needed 107 league games to surpass the 301 goals scored by Vicente del Bosque's Real Madrid side. However, the team needed all of three and a half seasons with Del Bosque in charge to score those goals, coming to a total of 153 games.

The team has averaged 2.83 goals per game with Mou in the dugout. This figure has been helped in no small way by the glut of goals scored last season, during which the 'Blancos' set a new record by scoring 121 goals in the league. Only Miguel Muñoz (809) and Leo Beenhakker (304) have been in charge of a Real Madrid side that has scored more goals than the manager from Setubal, Portugal.

The goal-scoring record set last year allowed Real Madrid to claim its 32nd league title. However, despite scoring less goals, Del Bosque's team performed much better when it comes to winning trophies, winning two league titles (2000-01 and 2002-03) and, importantly, two Champions League titles (1999-2000 and 2001-02), as well as an intercontinental cup, a SuperCup and a Copa del Rey.
