Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Nicolas Maduro on his victory in the presidential elections in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

During a telephone call the parties confirmed their readiness for the further development of bilateral cooperation in the spirit of strategic partnership.

A number of practical issues in Russian-Venezuelan cooperation were also discussed according to the Kremlin Press Service.
