Mexico congratulates Maduro on win

The Secretariat of International Relations of Mexico on Monday sent its congratulations to Nicolas Maduro on his win in Venezuela's presidential elections which were held on Sunday.

"Please accept our sincere congratulations on this peaceful victory, the choice of the Venezuelan people. The Mexican government is ready to continue and further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our two countries," the message says.
According to the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, Maduro received 50.55% of the electorate votes, while his main rival Henrique Capriles, the candidate of the opposition Democratic Unity Bloc received 48.97%.

The candidate of the ruling United Socialist Party has already received a certificate confirming his election win and the fact that he has been chosen as the head of state until 2019.
