The recent powerful earthquake hasn’t affected the Russia-built Busherh nuclear power plant in southern Iran. No tremours were felt at the power plant site, a Rosatom official reported from the ground.
A violent 7.8-magnitude quake rocked the Iran-Pakistan border region on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey said. The USGS pegged the epicenter 86 kilometers away from the city of Khash. The strike killed at least two scores, a local Press TV channel reported.
The earthquake was felt across the region, including Pakistan, India and several Persian Gulf countries.
The quake came after two tremours estimated at 6.3 and 5.4 points had been located 90 kilometers from Bushehr.
