The police managed to prevent suicide case in Yerevan.

Today, on Jan. 6 a suicide attempt was registered in Yerevan.

As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan informed LURER.com, at about 01:30 of the night Arabkir police department officers at the time of enhanced service noticed that a young man was preparing to jump from Kievyan bridge in Yerevan. After 2-3-minute negotiations the police managed to prevent the latter from committing a suicide. The police transferred the young man to Mashtots police department. The officers found out that the man was resident of Ararat region`s Aygepat village - Levon Khachatryan, 31, who was married and had an underage daughter.

In Aygepat village the photojournalist was informed that the young man might have wanted to commit a suicide as according to him he had an incurable disease and didn`t want his daughter to know about it. With the signature of relatives Levon Khachatryan was set free.

The photojournalist informed that 119 cases of suicide attempt were prevented by RA police in 2011.
