His Holiness Karekin II Received Newly Appointed Indian Ambassador

On April 17, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received Mr. Suresh Babu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Armenia.

His Holiness offered his congratulations to the newly elected Ambassador and wished him successful efforts in Armenia. During the meeting they discussed the well-established friendly relations of the two nations, the historical presence of the Armenian community in India as well as the present condition of the Armenian churches in India.

His Holiness also reflected on the activities undertaken by the Armenian Academy of Calcutta, expressing his gratitude to the Indian Embassy for the support provided to the Mother See. His Holiness expressed confidence that through the newly elected Ambassador’s efforts the relations between the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Embassy will maintain its distinguished amity and joint cooperation.
