Russia disagrees with the latest report by the UN Secretary General on sexual violence in conflicts, where Damascus is shown as the main culprit.

Speaking at the Women, World and Security debate at the Security Council on Wednesday this country’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin faulted the report for ignoring the numerous cases of sexual transgressions committed by the opposition representatives, which have been backed up by witness accounts.

Churkin urged maximum objectivity when dealing with such a sensitive issue based exclusively on unbiased and trustworthy information.
