58-year-old Steven Trew from Bonita Springs was too disappointed because Florida’s Everglades Wonder Gardens would close its doors on April, 21.
So the man decided to set animals free by cutting the locks from almost every cage in zoo, says employees at the Gardens, according to Associated Press.
Employee Jack Wollman arrived at the Everglades Wonder Gardens at 5 a.m. Monday and found the back gate sawed open. When he got inside he noticed deer, pigs and birds were out of their cages, reports News Channel 5.
"Luckily none of the dangerous animals got out," Wollman said. "The mountain lion cage was wide open, but she never left".
Trew “ heard we were closing and he wanted to set the animals free," Wollman said. "What kind of an idiot would let a mountain lion out right in the middle of Bonita Springs?"
When zoo’s employee asked violator if he was drunk, Trew said he was, adds WINK News.
By the fault of Steven Trew two white tale deers suffered: one was hit by a motorcyclist, and the second is still missing. The estimated cost of damage, made by Mr. Trew, $1,400.
