His Holiness Karekin II received Secretary General of European Council

His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received the Secretary General of the European Council Thorbjørn Jagland at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his content about the assistance of the European Council in the reforms implemented in Armenia.

His Holiness Karekin II stated that the presence of Armenia in the European Council highly contributed to the strengthening of the democratic processes in the country, which is one of the most important factors for the Christian system of values.

During the visit the interlocutors highlighted the attitude of the society towards the belief and religion, resolution of the regional issues and the efforts of the religious leaders of the region in the peaceful regulation of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, as well as the considerable role of the interreligious dialogue.
