Reuters. Magnitude 7.0 earthquake jolts islands off northern Japan, no tsunami warning

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.0 struck islands off northern Japan on Friday but no tsunami warning was issued, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The epicenter of the quake was located 275 km northeast of Kuril'sk in the Kuril Islands. There was no tsunami warning issued immediately after the quake. Buildings in Tokyo shook from the tremor.
On Wednesday, a series of earthquakes, including one with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2, hit Japan's Miyake island, about 180 km south of Tokyo.
