British Bonhams to auction off cigarette case of Nicholas II

British auction house Bonhams is to auction off a cigarette case of Nicholas II as part of the regular Russian sales.
The Lot will be up for auction June 5, its sale to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty.
The estimated cost of the cigarette case is from 150 to 200 thousand pounds. It is decorated with purple enamel, gold plating and precious stones, and has a heraldic eagle image, RIA reports.
A masterpiece hailing from the Faberge workshops, the cigarette case was a memorable gift and a relic of the Romanov dynasty.
Empress Alexandra Feodorovna presented it to her husband, Nicholas II on 29 May 1897 - on the occasion of the birth of their second daughter, Grand Duchess Tatiana.
