Ancelotti gets Florentino's vote
Sport
Carlo Ancelotti, currently the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, is the best placed to replace José Mourinho at Real Madrid. The Portuguese coach negotiated his exit from the club months ago and club chairman Florentino Pérez would welcome the Italian with open arms.
José Mourinho will be back at Chelsea next season because that's what he wants and a deal has been in the pipeline for months. In the unlikely event that Roman Abramovich doesn't bow to his wishes of having the last word on signings and breaking off talks, then Jorge Mendes is in favour of accepting PSG's multimillion offer.
At Real Madrid they have a rather odd theory about their future coach. The central notion is to select whoever happens to be at the peak of their powers. This goes a long way to explaining why Florentino Pérez is leaning towards the highly experienced Carlo Ancelotti.
