Del Bosque: "It upsets me when some Real fans give Casillas stick"

Speaking earlier on Friday, Del Bosque noted that it "upsets" him "when some Real fans" give Iker Casillas "stick", because he is the Spain and Real Madrid captain. However, the Spain boss added that "it is for his coach to decide" whether or not he plays for his club.

"He's a Spanish player and I think we have to do right by him. I'm amazed that I've been criticised for supporting Iker when I'm only talking from the national team's perspective. We want him to be healthy and problem-free", he noted.

The coach, who was speaking at the press launch of a new radio sports show, added that he has known Casillas since he was a youngster starting out at Real Madrid and that he expects him to be in this summer's Spain squad "barring any unusual developments".
