Darijo Srna: "Henrikh told me to take the spot kick."
Sport
The captain of Shakhtar summed up the face-off at the Dnipro-Arena.
- The game was good enough. It was a big festival for Ukrainian football today. I want to see more of such stadiums, more of such teams as Dnipro, and more of such matches as we had today. Shakhtar got off to a poor start, having given away a goal. But we have no complaints against Anton - he is a goalkeeper of decent level, he’s been gaining experience, because he is still young. After that, the team got focused and created a lot of chances. The most important thing is that Shakhtar have shown today that both physically and technically they were better prepared than Dnipro.
Did you take the decision to take the penalty kick in the course of the game, in that very episode?
- I’ve been ready to take that shot for a few games in a row, but there was no penalty situation. (smiling) Mister told me to take the decision on the pitch. I asked Henrikh to take it - he said, “No, you do that.” In the end, it turned out well. I know how our fans worry and rejoice together with us. How they are looking forward to Shakhtar winning their fourth consecutive title. I promise them that in the next match, at the Donbass Arena, we will try to become the champions of Ukraine!
