Belgorod, Russia in shock over mass shooting

Belgorod is in shock and mourning the victims of the mass shooting in the center of the city.
Police are in the streets in force and sirens can be heard all the time.

Law enforcement authorities have asked residents for their understanding and try not to leave their homes.

The governor of the Belgorod Region Yevgeny Savchenko gave a speech in which he called the shooting a "terrible, irreparable tragedy."

On Monday afternoon, a local resident opened fire on customers of a gun shop and then on passers-by in the street, then fled by car.

Six people were killed.
